"The
Sacraments of baptism, confirmation and Eucharist are the three sacraments by
which an individual is initiated into the full life of the Church. Whether
these sacraments are celebrated all at the same time, or at various times in a
person's life, they are invariably understood and carried out as major steps in
the initiation process."
~ Diocesan Guidelines for Sacramental
Preparation
Baptism
Special Preparation is required for the parents of an unbaptized infant or
child who has not reached the age of reason* (including the infant or child of a
Catechumen).
First Eucharist and
Reconciliation
Preparation is a joint effort between family and the parish. A
child's first communion is celebrated at one of the regular parish
liturgies. After preparation, a child will celebrate first
reconciliation before receiving Eucharist. This celebration will
be arranged with the Pastor and the parents.
