Preliminary Guidelines for Couples Planning to Celebrate Marriage at
St. Elizabeth Church

First Step: At least six (6) months prior to your marriage, contact the Parish Priest.

To set a date for the marriage.

Prepare pre-nuptial investigation form and Declaration of Freedom.

Second Step: Certificates to Produce

Baptism – valid within six (6) months

Confirmation

Civil Marriage license must be obtained from the city or county where you reside. Valid for no more than fifty-nine days.

If previously married, you must submit death certificate of the spouse, a divorce decree and a decree of annulment from the Catholic Church.

Third Step: For Non-Parishioners

The Priest who is preparing the paperwork for the couple should contact the Parish Office to book, set date and time at least six (6) months in advance.

All paperwork must be submitted to the Parish Office at least two weeks prior to the wedding.

If the couple brings their own Priest, they should request a “letter of Delegation.”

Miscellaneous details: Role of the Marriage Coordinator

He or she will work with the couple on the details of the wedding.

Lets the bridal party know what can or cannot be done for the rehearsal and the wedding.

Opens and closes church, turns on/off heat/AC/lights.

If there is a Mass, the coordinator makes sure all elements are in place.

Assists priest/musician in whatever is needed.

 

Charges for the Mass/Ceremony Performed at St. Elizabeth Church – 2011

Usages of Church and Hall:

Parishioners: $300

Non-Parishioners: $500.00 (Includes cleaning the Church/Hall & the Marriage Coordinator)

Cleaning Church and Hall:

Parishioners: $150.00 ($75.00 per day, non optional fee)

Non-Parishioners: No additional charge

Marriage Coordinator:

Parishioners: $150.00 ($75.00 per day)

Non-Parishioners: No charge

The above checks are made payable to “St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.”

You will receive a receipt from the parish office.

Hall Rental Insurance: If food is served: $100.00 (both Parishioners and Non-Parishioners) the check should be made payable to “Catholic Diocese of Richmond.” Payment must be made 20 days prior to affair. The insurance form is available in the parish office or on the Diocesan website. Check will need to be mailed to the Diocese of Richmond. Copy of check and completed must be submitted to the Church Office.

Priest(s): Check payable to Priest(s), arranged by wedding party.

Misc: Flowers and decorations arranged by wedding party. No additional charges for Video and Photography. Musicians arranged by marriage party.
